Busy

I feel like I walked straight out of Gossip Girl with this look.

We’ve actually had a proper few winter weeks here in Louisiana. It even snowed a few weeks ago. So, I’ve been able to wear somewhat actual winter clothes, which includes my favorite faux-fur coat. Such an oldie but goodie!

The sleek and gold touches complete this outfit!

I love the layered cozy but glam feel about this look. These tights complete the layered look and these are hands down the best tights I’ve worn. I got sent these a couple of years ago and they’re so thick and opaque and haven’t ran like most tights do. I hate see through tights, so I love that these one’s are super luxe and durable!

Playing with Primary

Primary color combos can be a bold choice, but in chic silhouettes they can make for a statement yet chic look.

Red and yellow have definitely been the “it” colors for 2017, and rightfully so. These 2 primary colors can definitely amp up a look whether it’s edgy or feminine.

I chose to incorporate some earthy browns into the mix to level out the look and kind of bring everything together.

Primary colors might not be for everyone, especially mixing them, but I think it’s a fun fashion risk to take. Putting primary colors together will definitely make a statement look, but when put together with the right accessories and materials, its makes such a classic outfit!

I blogged this exact dress, in black, a couple of months ago, and when I found the grey one I had to have it. A classic, and comfy neutral swing dress is always a perfect, easy, go-to dress.

We all get into the “what do I wear now” phase of winter. I wanted to get out of the monotonous “I guess I’ll wear my favorite sweater for the third time this week” routine when getting dressed.

I first bought this wool, pleated dress to go with this vintage floral top for a cool vintage look. But once I had the dress, so much inspiration starting flooding, because there’s so many different ways you can go with this dress. Edgy with a moto jacket and cool tee, classic with a white button down, or the vintage school girl route.

The shape of the dress is so delicate, but the thick wool makes it sturdy for the winter.

A good mix up from the everyday jeans and sweater.

I go through phases with suede. Sometimes I’m totally into it, other times I secretly wish the trend would fade. But then sometimes I’ll find a great piece, like this faux-suede dress, and be back into the trend for a hot minute.

Some of the times, what draws me back into the suede trend, is the actual structure and shape of the piece itself. I love the mod feel the dress gives to the whole look.

I had been eyeing this tassle sweater for many, many months and I was in love. But I was trying to cut back on buying sweaters and get use out of the ones I already have, of course none of them were as amazing as this one. But I got the email that French Connection was having a sale, and got right on it.

It’s such a fun statement piece, but it’s still very classic and elegant. I kept the rest of the look very sleek and polished to balance out the chunky & playful sweater.

Don’t Forget!

The giveaway that I’m doing with Polette ends this Friday! See the original post here to join the giveaway!
