Vintage-Inspired Neutrals

I’ve got the vintage bug lately…

getting dressed has been fun for me again. I go through waves of loving my style and then not being sure what I love. But recently I’ve been loving unexpected fits with a classic feel and kind of playing “dress up”. When I take my looks to0 seriously or try to fit my style into what I think it should be, it loses it’s authenticity. Fashion’s all about trying new things but also sticking with what you know!

This look is the perfect example of polishly un-polished. The culottes and the smart white blouse are chic and fits of the pieces along with the flats give the perfect effortless touch.

We’re one week away from spring and I can’t wait to bust out all of the pretty pastels, but neutrals this time of year are also such a staple and shouldn’t be left out!

A week in the “blogging world” seems so long. I haven’t posted in a week and honestly it feels refreshing to kind of breath and let my mind have a rest. But don’t worry, I’m back at it this week!

I’ve been lusting after this white JOA top for a couple of weeks. I know what you’re probably thinking…”it’s just a white top, what’s so spectacular?”. This top, it’s simple, but it’s beautiful in its simplicity. The eyelet detailing and ruffling bring it to life and give the otherwise plain top flirtatiousness and life. I love that with my hair in braids it gives the look a sweet-country vibe. And fun fact that ties into the “prairie” look: my named was inspired by the writer Laura Ingalls Wilder that wrote Little House on The Prairie.

This top is a little more than I usually spend, but it’s such a classic and quality piece that I can wear so many different ways and I love that!
