Summer Royalty

Long time, no blog post…at least it feels like a long time to me. If you haven’t been keeping up with my social media, I GOT MARRIED!! On August 5th Mason and I finally said “I Do”! Our wedding was better than I could’ve imagined, besides a last minute venue change, that I surprisingly didn’t freak out about. Everything came out perfect. I can’t wait to share all of our pictures, and video, with you all!

After our wedding and honeymoon, it feels so weird trying to get back into the swing of things and get everything back to being organized and having my head in the game. I honestly haven’t kept up with “fashion trends” this year. I kind of have been doing my own thing and picking up pieces that attract me, rather than me searching for specific pieces.

I shot this look probably a month ago and kind of forgot about it. Honestly, with this Louisiana summer heat, this was a little too much clothing. But, when I come up with an outfit idea, I just go with it. This look will be a great transitional look when it starts to get cooler, maybe somewhere are November…maybe.

I love authentic vintage pieces, but where I live it’s hard to find cool vintage pieces, especially clothing. That’s why I love finding new pieces that take on that vintage feel. This bodysuit I got from Nasty Gal a few months ago makes me think of maybe a silk robe a woman in the 40s would’ve worn. The rich colors of the bodysuit balance perfectly with the soft browns and the pop of white from the sunglasses adds some brightness to the look.

Pink Floral

This pink floral button-up is so not me. Something about this summer has just made me want to explore color a little more.

This soft pink color has been my favorite since the beginning of spring…I mean I died my hair pretty close to this color, so I obviosuly like the color.

The light, dusty pink color is good way to do color for people like me that don’t wear a lot of color. It’s not overpowering, and when it’s plain, it makes for the perfect almost neutral color.

Summer Stripes

This tank is a piece that I’ve been dying to wear. I love the stripes on it, but I’m obsessed with the shoulder-bow detailing. I love that the shape is effortless, and can just be thrown on with jeans or shorts.

It helps that the material is light, because I’m dying down here in the Louisiana heat. No matter how long I live here, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.

Nod to Mod

This black denim skirt is such a chameleon piece. It can be super played down and casual and can be worn edgy with a graphic tee, or adds a mod, sweet feel like in this look.

I can’t get over the beautiful detailing of this blouse, and the billowy sleeves are kind of something I want to get more into.

I also just unboxed these new heels yesterday, and I’ve already planned so many outfits around them. So comfortable, and they of course are nod to mod (and kind of Barbie-ish), which just completes this whole look.

Hope you guys have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!

White is the new black. At least for me it is. Of course white is always a must for spring and summer, but this year it’s really making it’s mark. Like head to toe white, white accessories, etc. I personally am loving the trend because it’s so sophisticated but light and airy at the same time.

I played with textures and some colors for this look, because sometimes a head to toe outfit of one color can be a little flat looking. And can I say how much I’m obsessed with these white culottes?! I had been searching for white culottes for what felt like forever, but then came across these ones and had to have them. I love the length, shape, pleats, and most importantly the price tag, they’re only $30!

Yesterday I was in New Orleans for the opening of the Warby Parker Frame Studio (which is amazing), and I wanted to look put together, fun, and I wanted to be comfortable all in one outfit. I love how this romper can be casual, like I wore it yesterday, or  I can add some awesome heels, and it’s totally glamorous and chic.
