Heat Wave

This is another look I wore while in Texas! The heat was exceptionally hot. This day we journeyed 10 miles in the 100+ degree heat, I’ve never been so ready lay down in my life.

This jumpsuit did me well for walking downtown and doing a bunch of shopping. I loved the cross strap detailing and I like the fact that I can wear the sleeves off the shoulder or as a halter! And of course, I paired the look with my very worn in sneakers.

And can we talk about these shades?! I had seen a bunch of people with the transparent yellow Acne or Gucci aviators, you know the ones. I loved the style, but didn’t think I could pull them off. I love that these shades are super affordable and I like the unique style with the ombre affect of the blue mixed with the yellow.

Light and Sophisticated

If you were following along on my Snapchat and Instagram this weekend, you would’ve seen that I was in Austin Texas for my birthday!

This is the outfit I wore for my birthday dinner. We headed to Lake Travis to eat at The Oasis restaurant (I’ll be doing a food diary this week!).

This dress was the perfect sophisticated, but laid-back look for my birthday. And the material was light, so it was perfect for surviving the Texas heat.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sleepwear. Who would have thought looking like you’re wearing your pajamas would be a trend. A huge trend for this summer has been matching “pj” sets, like silk button up with silky matching trousers. Another similar trend is the lingerie inspired trend. I’ve been on a hunt for a lingerie inspired tank that wasn’t too lingerie looking, ya know? I love the coppery color of this Asos one and how luxurious feeling it is. I’ve been pairing it with a plain tee or tank underneath to kind of counteract the femininity of the tank.

Be sure to follow along on all of my social media, as I’ll be heading to Austin Texas for my birthday tomorrow! I’ll be snapping cool locations and all of the cool places I’ll be chowing down at. Have a great day!

Open [shoulder] Season

I describe my style as “classically trendy”. I like to acquire pieces that are classics but have a unique and updated twist to them. _DSC0065_DSC0089_DSC0111_DSC0097_DSC0075_DSC0116_DSC0136

This top has tank straps, but I thought the top looks much more streamline with the straps gone. I’m thinking of cutting them out just because they serve no purpose to the top.

I love how to plaid button up looks masculine, but the fact it’s off the shoulder, it adds that super feminine and delicate feel.

It can be a tricky situation when you have to go from a day to night look. If I’m busy all day, but I know I have plans at night, I’ll usually wear a dress and then just switch it up. Like today in this new London Times dress! This dress is pretty dressy with the lace paneling, and the embellished waist detailing, but by pairing the dress with sneakers and an edgy vest for the daytime, it makes it totally daytime appropriate, and a little more playful.

For the nighttime, I added a classic heel and blazer to bring the whole polished look together.
