This look was one of those no-brainer looks for me. Throw on a chambray top with anything, and it’s the perfect casual look.

Typically, I’ve been wearing this top over some black skinnies, or leggings to just run errands, but I loved mixing this casual top with dress pants and some cool shoes to switch it up. for the perfect mix of “I tried, but not too much”.

I also like the layered look with lace bra peeking out and the scarf just to add a little something extra to this look.

And naturally I’m obsessed with my new shades from Polette like I am with all of their frames. I like how these sunglasses have the classic cat-eye shape, but they’re modernized with the gray metal framing.

Before the Fall

I’ve officially declared I have an obsession with culottes and off-the-shoulder blouses. Off-the-shoulder tops and culottes are both so flattering in such a unique way.

Also, give me a long, bell-sleeve and I’m instantly sold on the top.

I love the classic and chic print and fit of this Bishop + Young dress. This dress is from their amazing fall collection, which I’m currently obsessing over. I love this dress for the fall, but I like how it can be worn now, as well, for a sophisticated look.

I finally broke into trying the scarf trend, and like with the culottes trend, once I tried it, I can see why it’s a super popular trend right now.

A scarf is such a simple accessory, but makes such an unexpected and unique statement. I love the way it’s an easy summer-to-fall transitional accessory, especially because I won’t be able to start wearing fall pieces (like jackets and knits) for a while with this Louisiana heat. It’s a great way to be on trend even if the weather where you live does not permit lots of layers.

I also am loving this easy summer-to-fall slip dress from Bishop + Young’s fall collection. I love that this dress is not sheer, because there’s nothing worse than a slip dress that is see through. It’s the perfect throw on and go dress.

Right now I’ve been just wearing the dress in its natural form, but in the later fall/winter I can’t wait to wear it with a leather jacket or comfy sweater over top!

I love shopping on sites like ThredUp and The Real Real for quality pieces that don’t break the bank, like this Citizens of Humanity skirt. I snatched this skirt up for around $40, never worn with the tags still attached. For a Citizens of Humanity skirt, that’s a pretty great deal. Sometimes you have to do some digging on sites like these, but every time I visit these two sites I always find at least one gem.
