The Nude

But, I love how sophisticated, and expensive it makes pieces look (even if they are Forever 21 like my jacket/blazer and pants). Camel/nude, I feel like, goes with every color and can be incorporated into everyone’s wardrobe, no matter what your style is.

I love how timeless/classic this oversized jacket-blazer is, but it’s really on trend, so I don’t feel outdated. I also added the cool, faux-leather, white, crop top to aid in keeping the look modern, along with the white bag.

I just went a little crazy while shopping at Forever 21, that’sΒ why my whole outfit is pretty much all F21, haha.

Weird

Even though the new year is exciting, once the holidays and all of the fun stuff is over, for some reason I get so unmotivated fashion-wise. We’re currently now in that phase of seasons I feel like everyone seems to dread. It’s still winter, but you want to change up your wardrobe, but It’s not spring yet and if you’re like me, you’re in a fashion rut.

So, for today’s look, I went with what I like to call “updated classics”. I would expect every gal to own a faux-leather pencil skirt (or someΒ typeΒ of pencil skirt), some booties, and some sort of graphic tee. Not usually worn together, I decided to switch that up.

I usually just run to the store in my graphic tee’s, but I decided to dress this “I’m a Weird Kid” one up with the pencil skirt, booties, and of course, my beloved coat. And, this tee isn’t just like any graphic tee, it’s a little bit more … I guess you could say, chic?

Soft

I love mixing soft with edgy, like I did with today’s look. I like how the sweater has that comfortable vibe, with the waffle texture, (it’s also fleece lined inside so it’s super soft warm) mixed with the edgy, structured, faux-leather skirt and an awesome heel!

I’m channeling my inner Penny Lane with this coat today. I loved this coat as soon as I saw it and couldn’t wait to make an outfit with it! I went with the whole ‘vibe’ of the coat with the rest of the outfit with the sunglasses and turtleneck, but to keep the outfit more up-to-date, with the flatform loafers! Also, I’m sick so this coat feels like I’m getting a warm hug from a bunch of fuzzy animals.

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

Touch of Green

A little color never hurt nobody. I’ve had these faux-leather green shorts for almost a year and I thought they’d be fun to incorporate into my wardrobe somehow, but it was a little harder than I thought. I don’t know if it’s the color or material I was having issues with or what. Until a few days ago, I was just staring at them trying to figure out what to wear them with, and I just thought to myself “stick with what you know”. So I went with black and white pieces to let the shorts stand out. I kept my shoes and bag simple as well.

I would definitely wear this outfit to a little dressier holiday party, but I might add tights but for the night time, but for the day, with the weather where I live, I can get away with exposing my legs.

I paired this beautiful, classic, pointed-toe heels to elongate my legs and add a touch of sophistication!

I’ve said it before many times, having black and white as your everyday color scheme in clothing choices can get a little tricky…and boring. Black and white can be very 1 dimensional, so I like to play up my textures to avoid that 1 dimensional look. It was chilly, so I was able to layer my knit under my jacket, which adds tons of texture and dimension to the look.

I like how the hem of the sweater and the skirt take on the same curve and same length so it kind of looks like a dress! I also wore this mock neck bodysuit just to break up the black and white, so you could see every layer to the outfit.
