Too Late

You know those pieces that you think would look great for an event or for an outfit after it’s happened? That’s what I thought now that Christmas is well passed and I didn’t wear this top. It would’ve been the perfect Christmas top, but now it’s making its appearance as an edgy January look.

A little background of this look, and also the one before. A couple of weeks ago I planned to shoot this look and the look that was posted before this one after church. I had tried on the looks and put them in my car to shoot. Then Mason and I went downtown to shoot and we tried to shoot BOTH looks but they both turned out awful. Ever have those outfits that look good at home and terrible in the outside world? These were those.

I had some flowy pants with this look that ended up just making me look like a clown. I went home and totally changed the look, and this outfit came out to be one of my new favorite outfits. Buuuut, then I realized I probably should’ve tied the fabric behind me. Hey, it’s a new look and I made it my own.

Speaking of this top, I always love an “updated” classic top. I don’t consider myself sexy at all, but the bustier built-into the top gives a sexy and edgy feel to a classic top. Alpha & Omega has been one of my favorite new brands, new to me at least. They do such fun and chic pieces, always looking for my next piece to buy from them.

I threw on my chunky combat boots to add to that rough look and my leather jacket was a no brainer for this look.

I’ve been on a black and blue combo kick recently. I love when the black accents of the black and blue combo is an edgy leather piece. Like my last look (check it out here), I had paired a light blue top with faux-leather trousers and loafers. With this more formal outfit, my boots and leather jacket really change the game for this dress. These key pieces take this classic dress and make it cool, while still being polished.

The fit of this dress is un-real. I usually go for more flowier pieces and things that don’t touch my body, but this dress got me out of my shell and really made me feel confident. The deep v with the attached collar make the dress super chic, and the fitted skirt is super flattering. The material is a light and breathable material, so it’s the perfect winter-to-spring formal dress!

I had to get me a pair of denim culottes for the fall/winter season. I love this pair because they’re super soft and kind of stretchy.

I paired the look with my new leather jacket to add a little modern/edgy touch. And believe it or not, it’s actually getting chilly enough to get some use out of this awesome jacket!
