Simple, elegant, and no-fuss was the theme for our wedding. We didn’t want to get caught up in having a big production but rather personal, romantic, and not make us or our families go broke.

Our venue: this wasn’t the venue we were supposed to get married in. About a month before our wedding, the Cajun Cafe (which was our original venue) was being worked on an construction wouldn’t be done before our wedding. So, our wedding coordinator was able to get the Heist, which ended up being a more “us” kind of venue. It was brighter and more classic and ended up being such a beautiful venue. No meltdown or bridezilla here because of our amazing coordinator and how she handled everything.

My Bridesmaids:
Maddie (Mason’s cousin), Abigail, and Sarah (best friends from high school)

My dress. I had been looking at this dress for 3 years, even before Mason and I had started dating. Everything about it I loved. It was modest, simple, and classic and no frills. When Mason and I started talking about getting engaged, I hopped onto BHLDN and they still had the dress! They only had 3 left and it was in my size and it was half off! This literally was my dream dress and I didn’t have to have any alterations done to it. Score!

I decided to do my own hair to save a little money and I’m picky about how my hair is curled. I didn’t want anything to be over the top, especially when it came to my hair, so I decided against a veil (which also saved a chunk of cash), and the dress be the centerpiece.

Shoes: When I tell you I wanted no fuss, I meant it. I didn’t want to spend a lot on heels and I wanted them to be comfortable. I found these for $20 on Charlotte Russe, I know it’s kind of random. They were the perfect soft pink and were super comfortable!

Money saving tip: we stuck with eucalyptus, ferns, and Baby’s breath as our flowers because it was minimal and romantic, but also super affordable because it’s only considered as “filler” for bouquets! We ended up only spending $300 on flowers…total (yes, bouquets, boutonnieres, and table florals).

My Girls ♥
I had all of my girls pick out their own bridesmaid dresses so that they could pick something they were comfortable in and knew fit their body. Our entire bridal party and family wore black because we loved how elegant it looked. And we won’t look back one day thinking, “why did we pick THAT color?”.

Bridal walk song: She is Love by Parachute

Exit song: The Sound by The 1975

Mason’s Family

My nephew was supposed to be the ring bearer, but since he’s a 2 year old and just a little too rambunctious to make everything a little more smoother, we didn’t have him walk down the aisle.

This was honestly my favorite decoration at our wedding. I saw the idea on Pinterest and our wedding coordinator was able to bring my vision to life!

Mason and I’s favorite candy is Jelly Beans, so naturally that was our wedding favors!

Groom’s Cake Flavor: Chocolate with peanut butter frosting

The groom’s cake had the record of Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis on top and the lyrics were around the cake.

Money saving tip: having separated cakes instead of tiers saved us about $300!

Reception entrance song: You Make My Dreams by Daryl Hall & John Oates

Firs Dance Song: Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis

Father-daughter dance: You Are My Sunshine by Jasmine Thompson (tears fall uncontrollably whenever I hear this song)

Cake cutting song: Sugar by Maroon 5 (this is one of my all time favorite songs and I knew it had to be at my wedding!)

Cake Flavors:
Strawberry Champagne
White Chocolate Raspberry
Funfetti

We had our own Snapchat filter which only cost about $6 for the whole day, and we just used one of the already designed wedding filters!
