Sweatshirt & Jeans

As we all know sweatshirts have been huge this past year, and athleisure wear is at its all time high. I love the idea of wearing sweats as a look, but on other people. For me, I just don’t feel like the style fits me and I feel like I do the look wrong and look disheveled instead of cozy chic. fullsizeoutput_6fa0

I’ll try any trend at least once, unless it’s just totally out of my ball field. Instead of doing a casual errands kind of sweatshirt and jeans look, I decided to elevate and dress up the casual wear.

I love the fit of this cozy sweatshirt and I was totally sold on the statement balloon sleeve. I also just recently picked up these high-waisted wide leg pants and I’m obsessed with the super fashionable yet every day jean kind of feel.

And just like that it’s May, and it’s now double digits until the wedding! Feeling every kind of emotion at the moment, and I feel sorry for everyone around me, lol!

This spring has been so different and fun for me. I’m loving being engaged, and this spring I’ve had an unexpected style evolution happening, if you haven’t noticed.

I’ve stepped away from my all monochromatic looks and really have delved into the world of colors. I’m even wearing colors I never thought I would, like candy apple red. I always thought it was too loud for my style, but recently I’ve been so drawn to the color.

I’m loving the pop of red in accessories, like these heels and I just recently purchased the perfect little red bag. And I also love little flecks of it in prints, like this floral top. Mixed with the black, it creates a moody and romantic vibe.

Today’s look is from when I went to Houston last weekend. I love “going into the city” because the city scenery makes any outfit look so effortlessly cool.

A double flare is sometimes a little much, but I think by playing with the proportions- the cropped top and high-waisted jeans- it works.

Have a great weekend!

I’m kind of just over winter at this point, as most of us are. In louisiana the past 2 weeks it’s been a cool (sarcasm) 80 degrees..so it’s already feeling like spring.

I wanted to make this look lighter and brighter with my white accessories to get me into the spring mood.

Bell sleeves and flares just make me happy.

I’ve been loving flare jeans for about a year now, and I have some super flare jeans from Free People, and another pair from Free People that are super flare as well but are also patterned, and they can be a little trickier to work with.

But I like these particular Articles of Society Flare jeans I’m wearing because they’re a little more everyday, and don’t scream “I’m wearing flare jeans”. Because these flare jeans aren’t super flared, you still get the fun benefit of wearing flare jeans (and they make you look like your legs lost 10 pounds), but in a more subtle way. And instead of going full out 70s with these flare jeans, I added edgier pieces, like the motorcycle jacket, and caged heels (even though you can’t see them), to make the look more modern and not so flower child.
