Every year going from summer into fall, I always feel the need to buy a whole new wardrobe. In this post I’m showing you how I’m taking my favorite summer pieces into fall and giving them new life, so I don’t just forget about them.
The Slinky Tank
Summer

Fall

»Layer Underneath: it’s unexpected and adds warmth and coverage.
»Play with Textures: playing with textures adds dimension to keep dark and/or heavy pieces from being too flat.
»Go Dark: switch out your light wash jeans for dark wash. The dark wash adds depth and edge.
The Crop Top
Summer

Fall

»Add Darkness & Layer: This makes the summery top appropriate for the colder months.
»Pair it Up: add a structured bag and classic heels to make the fun top more sophisticated.
»All about Balance: I added a cropped flare pant to balance out the fitted & cropped length top.
The Light Button Up
Summer

Fall

»Classics are Always Best: Classic pieces will always ensure that you look put together and polished and trench adds that fall feel to the look.
»Tuck it: Because flowy tops can be overwhelming when oversized, give the top a little tuck to add shape back into the look.
»Touch of Edge: Faux-leather pants instantly add a rough & tough vibe to any look- especially a flowy and feminine blouse.
The Off-the-Shoulder
Summer

Fall

Add Coverage: I love the off-the-shoulder trend for summer to show some skin in a feminine way, but for the fall I want to be a little more covered but still incorporate the trend. I added a sleeveless turtleneck under the dress for the coverage but still have that sliver of skin peeking out.
Mix Styles: Adding a faux-leather jacket and boots is unexpected for this girly dress. By doing so it adds a new feel and style to the dress.
