Pretty much every favorite blue piece from my closet in one outfit. I love light and navy shades of blue so much because it’s still a color, but I don’t think it’s ever really overpowering. I added the long, white, sleeveless blazer to break the blues up just a little, bring out the white in the striped button down, and just add a light and fresh element.

Striped

Stripes have been EVERYWHERE lately, but I’m not complaining. Usually floral prints are the star of the show for spring, but stripes are a big competitor this year. I like how there’s a different print option for spring for the people like me that don’t like girly floral patterns.

I really like how this skirt has the crisp & clean stripes but has the frayed & undone hem, so it’s not super dressy.

Ladylike

Gingham obviously is super on trend for spring this year, and I’m absolutely loving it. Gingham is the more ladylike and girlier style of plaid. I’m not a huge fan of the colored gingham, I feel like it can come off a little…grandma-ish, that’s why I like this black and white one because the pattern is still girly, but the colors make it a little more edgy.

I paired the gingham button up with a lace-overlay  pencil skirt to keep the ladylike feel and also play with textures. This lace skirt is another piece I had stashed away since January (I got it on super sale), and I was dying to pull it out of my closet for spring.

I’ve been picking up a lot of graphic tee’s lately and for a good reason. I love graphic tee’s especially for my minimalistic style, because they make a statement without it being too in your face. I also like how a graphic tee can be dressed up, kind of like I did today, or worn with some denim cutoffs for a casaul look (and they’re effortlessly cool).

Beige & Black

I’ve noticed lately I’ve been drawn to white and shades of beige. I’ve been scared of wearing white and beige, or any light colored clothing, for the fact that I have a fear of light colors, because even when I don’t touch the piece of clothing, it still manages to get dirty. But I’ll just have to get over that fear because I’ve been buying a lot of beige and white for the spring. Beige and white is the perfect way to freshen up an outfit for the spring time. In this outfit I had to add an element of black, just to kind of balance the look between edgy and fresh looking.

I also think beige can make an outfit look 10x more expensive then it is. There’s just something so chic and effortless about various shades of beige.

Cold Shoulder

I like taking a piece of clothing and making it something it’s not. Like this Brandy Melville sweater. Brandy Melville clothing is usually more casual, but I like how the slouchy, oversized sweater looked with more structured pieces. Pairing two different styles in one look adds such a cool vibe. Also, by making the sweater an off the shoulder sweater, it adds a feminine and interesting element to the look.
