It can be a tricky situation when you have to go from a day to night look. If I’m busy all day, but I know I have plans at night, I’ll usually wear a dress and then just switch it up. Like today in this new London Times dress! This dress is pretty dressy with the lace paneling, and the embellished waist detailing, but by pairing the dress with sneakers and an edgy vest for the daytime, it makes it totally daytime appropriate, and a little more playful.

For the nighttime, I added a classic heel and blazer to bring the whole polished look together.

I had been drooling over this skirt for months when I first saw it on Nordstrom.com. I told myself to wait on it, and one day I was browsing and saw it was 50% off. With no hesitation, I bought it right then. This skirt sold out super fast after it went on sale, so it’s no longer available 😦

I love the mix of the sweet but slightly sexy skirt paired with the roughed up crop top and clean accessories.

You guys know I’m a sucker for an over-sized sleeve! I’m also loving how flattering the cinching of the waist is. It helps balance out the flowy culottes and flare of the top.

The tee under a slip dress is nothing new. The classic white tee under a slinky slip dress is becoming the new summer uniform in the fashion world. I love the combo together, because it takes a dress that is otherwise feminine and sexy, and makes it a little more tomboy-ish and playful. I opted for this striped number with a little flare at the bottom, which helps the outfit stay a little feminized.

Quick look: Date Night 5/28/16

I love putting a little extra something into my date night outfits, while still being comfortable. The faux-leather shorts have been a staple in my closet for years-I love them dressed up, casual, anyway you can think of. I love the juxtaposition of the slouchy and soft blouse with the edgy leather of the shorts, and boots.
