This look was one of those no-brainer looks for me. Throw on a chambray top with anything, and it’s the perfect casual look.

Typically, I’ve been wearing this top over some black skinnies, or leggings to just run errands, but I loved mixing this casual top with dress pants and some cool shoes to switch it up. for the perfect mix of “I tried, but not too much”.

I also like the layered look with lace bra peeking out and the scarf just to add a little something extra to this look.

And naturally I’m obsessed with my new shades from Polette like I am with all of their frames. I like how these sunglasses have the classic cat-eye shape, but they’re modernized with the gray metal framing.

Soft Sound

I love looking chic and put-together most days, but I also like being comfortable (doesn’t everyone?). There are a million ways to be super cozy without looking frumpy or sloppy. This fluffy sweatshirt is so comfortable, soft, and oversized and very well could be frumpy if paired wrong. I paired it with a faux-leather, structured skirt and heels to keep the look elegant!

Black & Blue

For some time, I feel like there has always been a controversy over whether or not you can wear black and blue, or black and brown, etc. I don’t know why that the black and blue combo ever is a guess if you can pair these colors together or not, because I think they totally compliment each other! If you do pair these colors together, my only suggestion would be to mix up the textures and patterns, like my soft turtleneck sweater, paired with a structured blazer, and detailed shorts, just to keep the look from looking one-dimensional.

My mothers closet isn’t usually my fashion go-to place. Since finding this awesome, vintage, menswear (shoulder pads included) blazer, I might visit her closet more often!  I’ve never even stepped foot into my moms closet because 1. she’s about 5 inches shorter than me, and 2. our style are on complete different spectrums. I especially love this blazer because I got for free, when I’ve recently seen blazers very similar to this for a much larger price tag.

To keep this look from being out-dated, I added newer, and trendier pieces, like the metallic boots and faux-leather shorts!

When I was getting dressed, I looked at my clothes and asked myself, “what is the most comfortable and simple piece to wear, but will actually look like I tried?”, and that piece would be this boyfriend shirt-dress. I kept it effortless but chic with my accessories and shoes!

I love pieces that can transition into any season, like this sheer and flawy dress. I wore it the summer as just a simple dress (click here to see that outfit), but for the fall I used it as a light layering piece.
