Too Late

You know those pieces that you think would look great for an event or for an outfit after it’s happened? That’s what I thought now that Christmas is well passed and I didn’t wear this top. It would’ve been the perfect Christmas top, but now it’s making its appearance as an edgy January look.

A little background of this look, and also the one before. A couple of weeks ago I planned to shoot this look and the look that was posted before this one after church. I had tried on the looks and put them in my car to shoot. Then Mason and I went downtown to shoot and we tried to shoot BOTH looks but they both turned out awful. Ever have those outfits that look good at home and terrible in the outside world? These were those.

I had some flowy pants with this look that ended up just making me look like a clown. I went home and totally changed the look, and this outfit came out to be one of my new favorite outfits. Buuuut, then I realized I probably should’ve tied the fabric behind me. Hey, it’s a new look and I made it my own.

Speaking of this top, I always love an “updated” classic top. I don’t consider myself sexy at all, but the bustier built-into the top gives a sexy and edgy feel to a classic top. Alpha & Omega has been one of my favorite new brands, new to me at least. They do such fun and chic pieces, always looking for my next piece to buy from them.

I threw on my chunky combat boots to add to that rough look and my leather jacket was a no brainer for this look.

I live for a good statement top. My first choice of outfit is a blouse and jeans, but I don’t want the look to be basic. This Alpha & Omega top really is a mullet top, but in a super chic way.  I’ve never seen a top like this and it’s definitely eye-catching, but it’s not too over the top because it’s a soft peachy nude shade.

I paired my frayed, almost flared, jeans to balance the look. I feel like just doing a regular skinny jean with the outfit would end up being too top heavy. The frayed added movement and volume to the bottom half so your eyes follow the whole look rather than just being focused on the top. fullsizeoutput_6983fullsizeoutput_6980fullsizeoutput_6989fullsizeoutput_6990fullsizeoutput_6998fullsizeoutput_6994fullsizeoutput_69a6fullsizeoutput_69a5fullsizeoutput_699cfullsizeoutput_69aafullsizeoutput_69abfullsizeoutput_69b1

The black booties add that sleek and edgy part to the flouncy look. Although this top is definitely a show stopper, because it’s just in the back and it’s a neutral color, the metallic bag adds a pop color with out actually being an in your face color.
